I am getting better at working on a painting while I am talking with the public, and find that my overall concentration has become a bit sharper as a result.
Maybe it is because talking does not pull me so far out of the process – at least as much as it once did – and my visiting is becoming part of the analytical process. It is like I have just turned on the audio of my thought process so others can listen in. Sometimes I have to smile because I can almost understand why Bob Ross talked so soft and steady…it is the calmness of talking to yourself.
This last weekend I started a painting at an event. Ordinarily I need to have a really good start so I can just coast in the lesser detail of peripheral areas but I am finally able to bring a white canvas and just launch. This painting has good potential if I can capture the image correctly. I will keep you posted.
